John Porter

John Harold Porter passed away suddenly on December 19, 2016, at West Marion Hospital. He was born in Quincy, Florida on June 23, 1965 to parents John Levi Porter and Eleanor Elizabeth Willis Porter. Raised in Key West, Florida and later moved to Anthony, Florida where his father opened a meat market and John became a full time butcher. He married in 1974 and enlisted in the Army in 1975, and was a proud member of the 1st Battalion 75th Airborne Rangers, Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

He is survived by his brother, Henry Curtis Porter; son, John A. Porter; daughters, Mellissa C. Porter-Allaire, and Brittany A. Porter; five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

At his request there will be no services. A later interment will be in Anthony Baptist Cemetery, Anthony, Florida.
