Ocala – John Melvin Stoner, 75, passed away August 25, 2015. Born January 30, 1940, in Portland, IN, to Lawrence M. Stoner and Esther Heller. He has resided in Marion County since 1948. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force as a Aero Medical Specialists and worked as a Machinist in Fabrication most of his life. He was avid cave and scuba diver he was a enthusiast in rebuilding antique and hot rod cars, loved to fly and later rebuilt aircraft with Custom Air Craft. But his true passion was riding motorcycles and sailing. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Juanita “Nita” Stoner ; parents Lawrence and Esther Stoner, of Ormond Beach, FL; son, Mark Stoner, Ocala; brother, Tom Stoner (Nelly)also of Ormond Beach, FL ; one granddaughter, Courtney; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony, FL. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be 9:30 am, Monday, August 31, 2015, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
