Josephine Pignataro

Ocala - Josephine Katherine Pignataro, 71, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2019. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Edo Scattaglia and Carmella Travia Scattaglia.  She owned and operated a Bar in Brooklyn for many years and later worked in insurance.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends, going to bike events, tending to her plants and flowers, and above all else- cooking Italian food.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Bear" Heminger. She is survived by her sister, Carol Henkel; grandchildren, Jessica Pignataro, Kaitlyn Pignataro, Toniann Pignataro and Anthony Pignataro, Jr.; great granddaughter. Adrianna; nephews John Henkel Jr.;  James Henkel; 4 great nieces and nephews;  friend and caregiver, Rhoda R. Ackley;  lifelong best friend Richard DiStefano;  Canadian best friend Gail Perkins; as well as her Skull Sisters group  and countless friends in the biker community that spanned the United States. She will be missed by all who met and knew her.

A celebration of life Service will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2019 starting at 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at The Beaver Bar, 1105 US-1 in Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
