Joy Dorrity

On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, Joy Dean Dorrity living wife and mother of 7 passed away at the age of 84. She loved the Lord and leaves behind a beautiful legacy. She loved to laugh and was full of sass.

She had a passion for animals. She never met a dog she didn’t live and would take in any animal that needed a home. She also loved to tinker around the house but nothing compared to her love for her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to brag on them.

Joy is proceeded in death by her father, Dean Colbert and mother, Jo Marie Gragg, her brothers, John Colbert, Robin Colbert and Dennis Previtt. Joy is survived by her husband, Charles Dorrity and her 7 children, Sherry Mcabee (Stan), Jeri Compton (Bill), Michael Garvin (Tina), Gara Horsley (Don), Charles Dorrity Jr.. (Pat), Shannon Crowder and Shane Dorrity (Melanie), 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, her brothers Gary Colbert and Martin Colbert and her sister Candace Odom. A private memorial will be held on Monday, March 27th at 6:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony.
