MARTIN, Joyce Avery

Weirsdale - Joyce Avery Martin, 71, passed away March 31, 2021. She was born August 22, 1949, in Adel, GA to the late Aubrey Philip and Lucy Odell Avery. Joyce was a resident of Leesburg, FL for over 60 years.  Preceded in death by her husband, James L. Martin and sister, Marty Hales.  She retired as Chief Deputy Elections Supervisor after 23 years from the Lake County Elections Supervisor’s Office in 2016. She was a member of the North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake, FL and served in The Children’s Ministry programs.

She is survived by her daughter, Dena Goldberg (David), Weirsdale, FL: step-son, Sean Daugherty (Brittany); grandchildren, Lindsay Roberts Beckworth of Villa Rica GA and Amanda Goldberg, Weirsdale, FL; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Lenox, GA, with Rev. Samuel W. Clements officiating.
