Judy Diane Hendrix, age 73, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on October 29, 2024. Judy was born on August 10, 1951, in Talladega, Alabama. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Judy graduated high school in Miami, FL, in 1970. In 1987, she moved to Apopka, FL, to raise her three children. Judy worked as an accountant/bookkeeper. When she wasn’t working, she devoted the rest of her time to her children.
Anyone that met Judy would say that she was caring and selfless. Judy always made sure that everyone around her was happy and comfortable, whether it be a friend, neighbor or stranger. Judy had a courteous way of easing burdens and uplifting those around her. The love she gave to others was like wildflowers; it was everywhere. She always knew how to "take a sad song and make it better." Judy's voice was soft and soothing like some distant lullaby you couldn't place.
Judy had a strong love for music, especially the blues. Judy also enjoyed Alabama football, cooking, dachshunds, and spending quality time with her family, whether it was a holiday or a weekend barbeque. Judy loved Christmas and vastly enjoyed decorating for the holiday. Her children have fond memories of their mom walking through the house at 6:00 A.M., shaking bells to wake them up as she was so excited to see their smiles on Christmas morning.
Judy loved attending annual art festivals, music festivals and enjoyed people watching with her brother, Jerry. She had a contagious laugh, a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She brought great comfort and warmth to those around her. Judy truly felt like a safe place; she felt like home. Judy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
"And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears. And love will not break your heart but dismiss your fears. Get over your hill and see what you find there, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."
She is survived by her brother, Ronnie Heath, of Homestead, FL; son, Andrew Estes and his wife, Mary of Ocala, FL; daughter, Shelly Iobst of Apopka, FL; daughter, Kelly Estes and her husband, Fernando of Dallas, TX; niece, Destiny Heath of Plantation, FL; and her three grandchildren John Estes, Brennen Estes and Bronson Iobst. She is preceded in death by her maternal parents, Isaac Heath and Doris "Christine" Heath, by her husband, Roger (“Luckie”) Hendrix, and her brother, Jerry Heath.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. Family and friends will be advised at that time.
