Laura "Claire" Downes

Claire Downes, 73, was called home on March 17, 2018 surrounded by family. Born August 4, 1944, in the Bradenton, FL, to Frank and Bertha Phillips. She was a nurse at Munroe Regional Medical Center for twenty-five years. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, her animals, and the many flowers in her yard.

Claire is lovingly remembered and survived by her husband, Glenn Downes; daughters, Chrissie Downes of North Carolina, Laurel Doster of Georgia, and Cindy Young of Ocala, Florida; brother Jackie Phillips; grandchildren, Justin and Emily Young, Noah, Wyatt and Ian Westerfield, and Luke Wiegold; and many friends and family that will miss her very much.  Claire was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Bertha Phillips; Brothers, Wayne and Emery Philips; sister, Phyllis Wright and her precious grandson Evan Young.

Memorial services will be held to remember Claire at 6:30 pm, Monday, March 19, 2018, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony, FL  32617.
