LaVon Julie Landis

LaVon Julie Landis, 69, passed away on August 17, 2024 in Ocala, Florida after a short battle with cancer. She was in the care of Hospice of Marion County at the time of her death and passed comfortably. Born January 15, 1955 to James Walston and Julie Norris in Tucson, AZ, she was a vibrant soul known for her loving, kind, and generous nature. A woman of deep faith in God, she dedicated her life to forming lasting friendships and being of service to her community. Faith, family, friendships, volunteering, and sports were her passions. Blessed Trinity was her home. After over 45 years of social work and civil service, she retired in 2019. 

 She is preceded by James Walston and Julie Norris. 

Loving and beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and great-aunt. She is survived by her dad; Johnie Early, daughter; CherRon Salemma (Michael), brothers; Lamont Self, Norris Self, sister; Lori Dunn nephews; Darryl Dunn, Cody Self, Shay Self, niece; Dana Dunn, great nieces; Marli Dunn, Elizabeth Dunn. 

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. 

Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in LaVon's name to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church or Blessed Trinity Catholic School.
