Linda Marie Kestenbaum, age 75, of Ocala, Florida passed away on August 22, 2023 at home. She was
born on November 20, 1947 in NewYork, New York, a daughter to the late Paul Velez, and Rita (Corsini)
Velez. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a Sister Joyce. She leaves behind to
cherish her memory, her devoted Husband of 34 years Paul Kestenbaum, a Son, Daniel Bartley, and four
Daughters: Kerensa "Kerry" Bartley, Desiree Bartley, Rachele McCullough, Heather Butler, and three
Sisters: Giga, Celeste and Roberta.
She also has left her Grandchildren: Raquel Bartley, Heather Bartley, Benjamin Howard, Emma
McCullough, Ian McCullough, Deleney Dawson, and Liliana Vickers.
She had one Great Granddaughter, Bella-Rose.
She was a devout worshiper of God, being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years. She was very
active in her Bible-based Ministry every month, by explaining bible truths to anyone she would meet. She
was a daily Bible reader, and did regular, and extensive research into Bible based topics. Her faithfulness
to Jehovah-God, set an example for all of us to follow. Even when she received the bad news about having
cancer, she still held strong to her beliefs, and the promise from Jehovah-God, that she would just be
sleeping in death, until the time comes, when she hears Jesus voice to “Come Out”, and be Resurrected
back to life, here on a cleansed earth, in the New World Paradise = (John 5: 28, 29 and Psalms 37: 29).
She always thought of others, and what she could do for them, or give them a gift. She was a loving
person, in spite of having many illnesses, that kept her in pain. She was very proud of being an Italian-
New Yorker, and she let you know it! Her nickname was “Brooklyn”, and she would say...”You can take
the girl out of Brooklyn, but you can’t take the Brooklyn out of the girl”. She always showed class & style.
She was also known for her beautiful singing voice, and probably could have gone professional, but that
was not her style. She was an excellent cook, especially any of her Italian dishes, and anyone who ever ate
some, would rave about it. She really treasured the memories of a trip to Italy, back in 2006, with her
Husband, Paul. Lynn had many talents, such as: a flair for decorating, a great dancer, loved to give
people nick-names, she was very smart with good common-sense, and anyone who knew her, would tell
you she had a wonderful sense of humor! She will be very dearly missed by all who knew her!
