MARISCAL Sr., Louis

Ocala - Louis Alberto Mariscal Sr, 76, passed away on September 1, 2019. He was born on January 28, 1943 in Havanna, Cuba to Miguel and Lydia Mariscal.

He fled Cuba at a very young age with his family during the Castro take over and spent his entire childhood growing up in Key West Florida.  He attended several Catholic schools including the San Carlos Institute with his siblings.  He was always playing jokes on everyone often getting into situations that typically ended with laughter. He met the love of his life, our Mother, Gloria Joyce Hinde during Hurricane Donna in 1960.  They began a life and had a family of four children.  They were together until her demise on April 03, 2013.  She taught him the value of family and gifted him with a comfortable life even after her passing.  She was the foundation for not only her children but many others, and he was fortunate enough to be a part of her world.  He had a strong love of animals especially both his dogs Noel and Chula.  He was also a well known Butcher by trade in Key West and made many good friends along the way.  He enjoyed attending Catholic Church and serving as a lay-person assisting with seating, collections, including committing himself to taking a shift at 2am to sit in the Adoration Chapel.  His hobbies were reading unlimited medical information and science, as well as being a wonderful cook of Spanish cuisine (which he passed on to his children) and boy did he love his Miami Dolphins.

He is preceded by his wife Gloria (Hinde) Mariscal, his father Miguel Angel Mariscal, mother Lydia Villazon Mariscal, brother Michael Mariscal, and sister Anita Royals.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Mariscal; his sons, Louis A Mariscal Jr (Karla), and Daniel Roy Mariscal (Lynese); daughters, Deanne Rachell Patchan (Matthew)  and Nancy Ann Howanitz; grandchildren, Rosita Caridad Mariscal, Louis A Mariscal III (Tony), Emily Renae Mays, Brittany Lynn Mariscal, Danielle Nicole Mariscal, Matthew David Patchan IV, Brandon Dominic Patchan, Scott Daniel Patchan, Fredrick Donovan Howanitz and James Dale Howanitz; as well as five great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
