Luther Alfred Grant

Luther Alfred Grant, age 93, of Ocala, Florida passed away on December 26, 2023 at Grace
Davis Hall Hospice House.  He was born on February 24, 1930 in Harris County, Georgia, a son
of the late John Cosby and Mattie Kate (Dunn) Grant.  In addition to his parents he was also
preceded in death by his devoted wife Joyce of 71 years in October of this year and the family
dog, Rambo as well as brothers T.C., Emmitt, Billy and Branard. He leaves behind two sons and
daughters-in-law, J.W. (Debbie) Grant, Gary (Susan) Grant, two daughters and sons-in-law
Ramona (Andy) Jordan, Cathy (Jeff) Priest, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-
grandchildren, and two sisters, Cecilia Wright and Alice Kimmons.  Luther was a farmer and
owned and operated Grant’s Building Materials for many years. He was a life-long member of
Anthony Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Ocala.  A Celebration of Life Service will be
Saturday January 20, 2024 at 11:00am at Countryside Funeral Home. The family requests that
in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of Marion County or Bibles placed by the
Gideons.
