Margaret Louise Harper, 86, passed away July 10, 2018 at Hospice Estelle's House surrounded by her family.  She was born May 31, 1932, in Moorman, KY, to Glen Moorman Swift and Jenny Louise Bishop Swift.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Western Kentucky and a masters from the University of Cincinnati. In 1963 she moved to Ocala and began a long career as an educator.  She was the first Curriculum Coordinator and later the first female Principal for the Marion County School Board.  She was Principal of several elementary schools before her retirement in  1992. She was a  member of Unity Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, George Harper; sons, Hiram London (Judi), Brent London; daughter, Claudia Brockett (Robert); brother, Norman Swift; sisters, Gwyneth Freels and Agnes Long; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Unity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home, 2300 Bartram Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
