Marlene Helen Mauer

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marlene Helen Mauer beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on December 10, 2024 at the age of 84. 

Born on January 6, 1940 in St. Louis Missouri, Marlene was the daughter of Roman and Cecilia Mauer. Marlene was known for her sense of humor, kind heart, and unwavering support for those she loved. Marlene was a source of love, strength, wisdom, and compassion for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marlene Mauer was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved younger brother, David Mauer. 

She is survived by her sister and brother, Mary Ellen Lopata, and George Wayne Mauer, Daughters, Beth Ann Watkins (Tim), Cheryl Erpelding; Son, Scott Montroy (Holly), grandchildren, Bonnie Hyter, Ben Hyter, Taylor Montroy, Addison Montroy and Micaela Jun, and great grandchildren, Madison Al-Jamie, Makenna Al-Jamie, Macie Al-Jamie and Maverick Hyter-Munson, all of whom will carry on her legacy of love and kindness.

In her free time, Marlene enjoyed music, reading, and shopping for unique items. She had a way of finding just the right gifts for her loved ones. She believed in the power of sending and receiving cards to people. If there was a theme to Marlene’s life, it was peace and love. She wanted more than anything for the world to know peace and love. 

A graveside memorial service and natural green burial will be held on December 20, 2024 at 10am at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery. The family invites all who knew and loved Marlene Mauer to join them in celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in her honor.

Marlene Mauer leaves behind a legacy of love for her family. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have shared time with her. 

Rest in peace, Marlene Mauer. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
