Citra, Florida — Martin A. Richards, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Florida on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jane (Lemay) Richards; his daughter, Judy Provencher and her family; his son, Jeff Richards and his family; and his son, Jeremy Richards and his family. He is also survived by his twin brother, Michael, brothers Kent, Keith, Kerry and sister, Vicki. His loving family includes son-in-law, Rich Provencher, daughter-in-law, Nikki Richards and pre-deceased by daughter-in-law, Amy Richards. Marty was loved by his grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob and Garrett Provencher, Brad and Blake Richards, Destiney Woods, Danielle Kirk and Adrianna Richards.
Marty was a great-grandfather to Matthew Jr. and Cecelia Provencher and Kinlee Jo Kirk.
Marty also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends.

Marty was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and is the son of George and Vivian (Emge) Richards. Marty lived in Chicago, Tucson and Denver before meeting the love of his life in Aurora, Colorado and settling in Massachusetts to raise a family.

Marty took great pride in a good day’s work, and enjoyed his time working at Reliable Fence Company, Bekins Moving Company, JP Noonan and Sorrenti Brothers where he made many lifelong friends.

A celebration of Marty’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Chapin’s Fish and Chips in Dennisport, MA from 1pm -5pm.

Jane, Judy, Jeffrey and Jeremy extend their heartfelt appreciation to Hospice of Marion County, especially thanking Victoria, Crystal and Stephanie for their compassion and care.

Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
