Matthew Jon Slivka, 53, of Zephyrhills, Fl, tragically passed away a hero on April 14, while attempting to help during a traffic accident.
Matt, born April 16, 1968 to Lorraine & John Slivka in Levittown, PA, was a recent transplant to Florida from his childhood home. He is survived by his devoted wife Kimberley; loving children, Samantha (Chris) Palmer of Horsham, PA and Daniel (Elizabeth) Slivka of Ocala, FL; and amazing grandsons, Lucas Slivka and Jet Palmer. He has also survived by his sisters, Christine (John) Babcock, Maria Slivka and Pam (Michael) Harshbarger.
A truck driver for 25+ years, Matt loved to talk to and help literally anyone. From friends and family that he would not hesitate to help with any task, to any strangers of gas stations who just need a directions. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, obscure knowledge of books and movies, and a fierce love of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A viewing will be held for loved ones at Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL on Tuesday, April 19th at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will occur at a later date in his home state of Pennsylvania.
