Maxine Barrett

Maxine Barrett, 92, passed away on July 16, 2016 at the Estelle’s House of Hospice of Marion County.

She was born on January 16, 1924 in Hartford, Alabama, and was a long time resident of Ocala, Florida. She retired from Belk’s Department Store of Ocala after 23 years of service. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and tending to her variety of flowers and plants. She was a member of Northside Missionary Baptist Church.

Maxine is survived by her son, Gary Barrett (Debbie), Ocala; three granddaughters, Joella Treiber (Todd), Ocala; Melissa Welborn (Josh), Flowery Branch, Georgia; and Elizabeth Barrett, Ocala; one great-granddaughter, Alex Treiber; two sisters, Maudrine Barrett, Hartford, Alabama; and Jeanette Williams, Devine, Texas; daughter-in-law, Marlene Barrett, Ocala; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Barrett; her son, Lloyd Rudolph Barrett; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 19, 2016 , at Highland Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements handled by Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, Florida.
