LANFAIR, Melvin "Mel" Rexford
Micanopy - Melvin "Mel" Rexford Lanfair, 77, passed away August 6, 2020. He was born February 26, 1943, in Butternut, New York, to the late Lynn Jay and Marietta Rose Lanfair. He served in Vietnam for the United States Army and later retired from the Municipal Maintenance for the Town of McIntosh after 12 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Jean Lanfair; son, Melvin Lynn Lanfair (Tracie); daughter, Cynthia Linn Lotshaw (Kenny); siblings, Elsie, Glenn, Art, Bob, Ray; grandchildren, Preston, Dustin (Christine), Deanna (Brandon), and Austin (Lindsay) and great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kaidon, Kensley and Baby Moose.

Melvin and Linda have been residents of Marion County since 1970, and have built a quiet life together in their quaint town. Melvin’s passion in life was being a phenomenal husband, and dedicated father and grandfather. He was a man who loved cars and was a “Jack of all trades”. He will be missed by many, but Melvin would encourage life to go on.

In lieu of flowers, Melvin’s family asks that everyone who knew him take the time to reminisce on a pleasurable experience with Melvin to celebrate his life. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
