Ocala - Mercedes Nieves Diaz Jimenez, 73, passed away on December 30, 2019, in Ocala, Florida. She was born on August 5, 1946 in Esperanza, Cuba to Rene Diaz and Josefa Maria Leon. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She made an impact on everyone she met, she never knew a stranger, and would have done anything for the ones she loved. The world is little darker without her light. She will be in our hearts always.

She is preceded by her husband, Benjamin Jimenez.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Jimenez; daughter, Lisa Cox; sisters, Miriam Diaz, Faith Palermo and Daisy Diaz; brother, Allen Diaz; grandchildren, Keith and Samantha Jimenez.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, Florida. Interment will follow after the service to Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, Florida. Pastor Bob King will be officiating the service.
