Michael Jesse Cochran "Mickey," 67, of Orange Springs, passed away on March 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on December 6, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Reginald and Hester Cochran.
Mickey was a truck driver by trade, spending countless hours on the road, but his heart was always in the great outdoors. He lived for the thrill of reeling in a big fish, kicking up dirt on the trails in his Jeep, and unwinding on the porch with his favorite country songs. Whether it was an adventure in the woods or just a quiet moment watching the world go by, Mickey knew how to take in life’s simple pleasures.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Cochran; his children, Leslie (Brian) Nobles, Kisha (Sean) Bloom, Michael (Shannon) Cochran Jr., and Richard Hodgdon, a son by heart; grandchildren—Megan, Tyler, Addison, Kristen, Hunter (Adam), Collin, Lyla, Isabelle—great-grandchildren—Alivia, Remington, Malcolm, and Sadie; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Henshaw, Tina (the late Richie) Wade, and Cheryl (Karl) Lambert.
Mickey was preceded in death by his siblings, William (Gail) Head, Glenda Head, Betty (Wes) McCubbin, Reginald (Peggy) Cochran, and Julie Cochran.
To celebrate Mickey’s life, the family asks that you honor his memory by heading out for a ride in the woods, casting a line in the water, or listening to an old country song in his honor.
