Myrtle Miller

July 18, 1923 — January 3, 2016

Ocala-Myrtle S. Miller, 92, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2016, at the Waters of Muncie Health Care Center following an extended illness. She was born on July 18, 1923 in Utica, Kentucky, the daughter of John Owen and Lula (Coburn) Simpson.

Myrtle married the love of her life, Aaron Miller on January 29, 1944 in Hartford, Kentucky and he preceded her in death in 1986.  Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and spent over 60 years of her life rearing her children and had also been the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Orange Hill Shell Gas Station in McIntosh, Florida for twelve years prior her coming to Muncie.  She was a member of the South Central Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, ceramics, and gardening flowers.  When Myrtle was able she even volunteered with Meals on Wheels delivering food to senior citizens and shutin people.

She is survived by one daughter, Owena DeAnn Rimes (husband-Perry), Anthony, Florida; four sons, David Miller (wife-Mary), Muncie, Don Miller (wife-Marne), Middleburg, Florida, Joseph D. Miller (wife-Jane), Dothan, Alabama and Todd Miller (wife-Angela), Ft. Hood, Texas; two sisters, Frances Frazier, Beaver Dam, Kentucky and Emma Jean Harl, Owensboro, Kentucky; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband of 42 years, Aaron, she is preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Noble, her parents and several siblings.

Committal Services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016, 3:00 p.m., at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Ocala, Florida with Brother Jody Broyles officiating.  Entombment to follow.

A memorial service will be held at the South Central Church of Christ, 3109 S. Meeker Ave., Muncie, IL, January 31, 2016, 3:00 p.m., with Brother David Miller officiating.
