Nathalie Kathleen Ragland was born on June 28, 1927 in New York, NY and
departed on December 22, 2021 in Ocala, FL. She was the fourth of five children born to
Ethel Grant and William Lewis. All siblings preceded her in death.
Nathalie always wanted to be a Nurse and graduated from Central School of Nursing
on Roosevelt Island, NY in 1949 and then graduated from Queensbourgh Community
College in 1971. While in living in New York she was Head Nurse in Respiratory ICU
and worked in the medical profession for 35 plus years there. After moving to Ocala, FL
in 1991 she was contacted by Hospice of Marion County and continued employment in
Nursing Care with them for 7 years.
She received numerous Certificates and Awards from The New York State Nurses
Association, Saint Louis University School of Nursing, MO and Bringham and Women's
Hospital Harvard Medical School among many others for service in her field.
Nathalie is remembered for her congenial personality and professionalism. Her
humor continued to the end. Serving her breakfast of fresh blueberries and yogurt, she
looked at them, looked at me and said, “What are these going to be when they grow up?!”
To which I replied, “That's it,Mom. That's as big as they get.”
She enjoyed watching old 'Shoot'em ups', doing word puzzles and playing the
piano. Nathalie was a gift from God we enjoyed for 94 years for which we are grateful.
She will be missed.

Preceded by - Arthur Ragland, husband and Wayne Stephen Ragland, son.
Survived by - daughters Renee Ragland-Moore, Denise Ragland-Lewis and 2
granddaughters Kisha S.Ragland and Kinda R.Smith; and two grandsons Jawara R Lewis
and Justin R. Lewis, as well as four granddaughters Jada, Joia, Jocelyn, Tiphany Smith
and two grandsons Joseph Smith and Tyler Woods, with a host of nieces and nephews.
