Silver Springs - Nathan D. Parsons, Jr. 97, passed away peacefully at home, January 22, 2021. He was born July 29, 1923 in Kissimmee, FL to the late Nathan D. Parsons, Sr. and Marie Arnold Parsons. He retired after 24 years with the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant. He loved the military and after that he worked in the Post Office and Agriculture Department for 13 years. He also had a short period of time as an inspector at Libby’s in town.

The happiest time of his life was when he was a little scutter, fishing with his Dad; and his momma calling out N.D! - and needing more wood brought into the house.

He is preceded by his beloved wife of 71 years, Enid Parsons, she was the love of his life; and sons, Richard and Timothy James; sisters Grace and Patsy. Nathan is survived by his wife Shirley A. Parsons; daughter, Mary Lamb; step-children, Diane Davis and Timothy Bogan; sister, Francis Henderson; and grandchildren Jennifer and Joy; and four great-grandchildren.

Nathan always had a smile on his face, he loved his family and all people. So many many precious memories, he always woke up and came out of bed singing songs and poems.

He will be laid to rest in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2021.  Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
