Patricia Coburn

Patrica D. Coburn, 92, died October 8, 2022 with her family by her side at Community Hospice in St. Augustine, Florida.

At her request, a service will be held at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida on Oct. 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Patricia Coburn was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William and Myrtle Davies.

Pat grew up living with her grandparents in Daytona at the Mosquito Inlet Lighthouse, also known as Ponce de Leon Lighthouse, where her grandparents J.B. and Mamie Butler were lighthouse keepers from 1926-1937.

She graduated from Melrose High school in 1948 and soon met and married Frank Coburn Jr. from Gainesville, FL the same year.

Mrs. Coburn returned to school and received her nursing degree at Daytona Beach Junior College in 1966 while raising her family. Her career evolved from a hospital nurse, office nurse, to home care and finally spending many years as a Hospice nurse in the community.

An avid gardener, she belonged to the Garden Club of Melrose, FL and traveled to various Orchid shows throughout the state.

Her hobbies and interest included gardening, reading, preventative medicine, and organizing her class reunions.

Mrs. Coburn is survived by her 4 children Frank, Steve, Debra and Lori , their spouses, 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
