Raymond Dages

December 11, 1935 — January 6, 2016

Ft. McCoy, FL: Raymond L. Dages, 80, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2016, surrounded by his family, following a valiant battle with small cell lung cancer. He was born December 11, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from Delhas High School in 1954. He proudly served in the US Navy as a Machinest Mate aboard the destroyer, USS Cushing from 1954-1962.  He continued his education in the Air Conditioning industry and retired as a Plans Examiner from the Broward County Building Department in 1997.

He retired to Fort McCoy, FL in 1997 with his wife Dorothy, where he enjoyed being surrounded by nature at his home, viewing the various wildlife, from turkeys to bears, and staying busy working on many projects in his workshop.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jane Althea (Weikel) and Ernest Richard Dages, his brother Ernest Richard Dages, and his sister Jane Wilson.  He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Lash) Dages, son Christopher Dages of Fort Lauderdale, FL, daughter Denise (Lance) Long of Anthony, FL, one grandchild on the way, two step granddaughters, Aiden and Kalyn, and brother-in-law Joseph Lash.

Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala, Florida on January 23, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. with Father Patrick Sheedy officiating.  Interment will be at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.  Contributions can be made to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala, Florida.
