Ocala - Richard Cannon Sr., 69, passed away April 2, 2015. Born October 7, 1946, in New York, NY, to Ruby Harris. He moved here from New Orleans at the age of 16. Often a variety of jobs, he and wife Mary opened Cannon Awning in 1984. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Smith; step-father, Pete Smith; brother, Lundy Cannon; and grandparents Ada and Charlie Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cannon; sons, Richard Cannon Jr., Wade (Marcie) Cannon, Casey (Becky) Cannon; daughter, Valerie Stone (Dana); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Rd., Anthony, FL, with family and friends welcome one hour prior for visitation. Interment will follow at Anthony Cemetery.
