Richard Eugene Hale, age 84, of Dunnellon, Florida passed away on April 19, 2023, in Ocala.  He was born on August 8, 1938, in Hoxie, Kansas, a son to the late Ralph Austin and Fairy (Hartman) Bernice. He was a life long resident in Marion County growing up in the Ocala National Forest. He was a graduate of Ocala High School class of 1956. He was named Lions club basketball player of the year in 1956. Richard was a veteran that served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force as a nuclex radar operator. He fished professionally on the B.A.S.S procircuit for many years. He also sold fishing tackle and did speaking engagements around the south east region of the U.S. He was known for his trick casting demonstration. He had a strong relationship with the Lord which carried him throughout his life.  Richard was a veteran of the US Airforce.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 55 years Patricia (James) Hale, three daughters Tracy, Cindy (John) and Annette, three sisters Judy, Linda and Mary, five grandchildren Jessica (Thomas), Curtis (Michelle), Patty (Korey), Jackson, Kinlea, and four great grandchildren, Kayla, Thomas III, Lilyana, and Kooper. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday April 30, 2023 at Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church with food to follow in the fellowship hall.
