Richard Harold Rosa
OCTOBER 29, 1987 ~ MARCH 11, 2018 (AGE 30)
The Rosa family and friends mourn the passing of Richard Harold Rosa, 30, who passed away on March 11, 2018. Richard was born October 29, 1987, in Warsaw, New York, to Vicki Mae Rowley and Michael Rosa. Richard grew up in North Vernon, Indiana and Hartford County, Kentucky. After moving to Florida in 2006, Richard spent his adult years in Ocala.
Richard’s passion as a child for sports led him to his love for football, which he played through high school. Dedicated to a healthy and active lifestyle, Richard could often be found lifting weights in the gym. Richard’s strong work ethic led to success. In Richard’s earlier years in Ocala, he worked as a correctional officer for the Department of Corrections. Skilled in farm maintenance and landscaping, Richard became an entrepreneur and led him to start his own business with much success. Many people met and grew to love Richard through his work as a bartender. He developed many close friendships in Ocala and the international equestrian community with his playful and fun-loving personality, bringing many people joy and laughter across the bar. Most recently, Richard worked as an insurance claims adjuster in the equestrian division at Great American Insurance. Richard's many talents often resulted in Richard working in dress clothes during the week, behind the bar some nights and on a tractor in the Florida sun on the weekends. Richard’s smile and laugh will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. Richard will live forever in memory, along with his personal message, “Never Give Up. Never Back Down.”
Richard is lovingly remembered and survived by his mother, Vicki Mae Drum, father, Michael Rosa and step-father, Clinton Drum II; grandmothers, Helen Rowley and Dixie Rosa; sisters, Amanda (Rosa) Anderson [Jason], Marci (Rosa) Boone [Michael], Tonia Robertson (Matt), Katrina Schmidjell (Steve), Tiffany Fantine (James); brother, Michael Rosa Jr. [Michelle], and seven nieces and seven nephews.
