Ft. McCoy - Rita W. Chastain, 85, passed away July 9, 2017. Born October 19, 1931, in Miami, Florida, to Ira A. and Ona Rita Smith. She has lived in Marion county for the past 47 years and was a dedicated mother, wife, and homemaker.
Rita is preceded by her loving husband, Jack L. Chastain; parents, Ira and Ona Rita Smith; brother, Ira Smith Jr; sister, Helen Weaver; and son-in-law, Eugene Dyals. She is survived by her sons, Gene Chastain (Cindy), David Chastain (Marie), Guy Chastain (Tracey); daughter, Cheryl Dyals (Eugene); 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Rita will be announced in the near future. Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
