Robert Harold Collins, 86 of Ocala, Florida passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025. He was born on December 21, 1938, in O’Brien, Florida, the son of Robert Frank Collins and Elma Hawkins Collins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infants, Robert Harold Collins, Jr., and a baby girl; two sisters, Jerry Collins Coop and Shirley Collins Bunting.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wylena Dasher Collins, a son, Rick Harold Collins (Sunny), three grandchildren, Davis, Camden, and Jake Collins.
After graduating from Branford High School where he played football and basketball, he served in the United States Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, Harold and Wylena were married on September 6, 1959. He attended and graduated from the University of Florida Forest Ranger School and worked for the Florida Forest Service as the County Ranger for Marion County. He later received his residential contractors license and built many houses. Later, he was employed at the College of Central Florida in Ocala until he retired.
Harold had a great love for the outdoors. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and watching sports. He was a faithful member of the Central Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26th at the Central Church of Christ in Ocala. Visitation at 10am and services at 11am. Burial will be at Burlington Santa Fe Cemetery in Suwannee County on Monday, April 28th at 10am. Countryside Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
