McLAUGHLIN JR., Robert Donald
Ocala - Robert Donald McLaughlin, Jr., 35, Rob to his Ocala Family and Robby to his West Palm family, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
Born on January 26, 1982 to Bob and Judy McLaughlin in Boynton, FL, the first born of the family was definitely the "Golden Boy" aka "Sunshine" in his mothers eyes. Robby could not have been a prouder big bro to his younger siblings Raychel and Cory. Through all of the fights, awkward family photos, and times of joy, their bond could not be stronger, nor the amount of love more apparent. Maybe not so evident in Cory's photos but the love is absolutely undeniable smile or not.
Robby had many hobbies but his first love was baseball. In fact his first word was "ball". The family spent endless hours and created countless memories at the ballpark. Clearly, anyone who knows Robby and thinks about Robby and Cory, their father or grandads, can't think about them without thinking baseball talk. Undoubtedly, baseball banter, data analysis, and hours of practice are certainly a part of heaven for Robby.
Robs loud, boisterous, caring, genuine ways gained the attention of his loving wife Rebecca. They were made for each other, like two peas in a pod, Bonnie and Clyde type. Their relationship was built on a solid friendship and Rebecca will be forever thankful for everything that Rob did for her and every single moment they were able to share together.
Rob has acquired many other friends (that are more like family member) and gained many additional family members through marriage. Patrick, Robby's brother-in-law was like a true brother to Robby and the mini sunshine of the family, Scout (Robby's niece) will be closely watched by her Godfather from heaven.
Aside from his love for sports, fishing, and God, Robs knowledge and love for his electical work was simply amazing. Always striving to learn more, do bigger jobs, and simply do what he loved on a daily basis, was something that we can all admire. Works not work when you love what you do. He was a phenomenal electrician, no denying that!
Rob was so full of love for everyone and was someone you could call when you needed someone to lean on, just to talk to, or stand by you. The bonds that were formed are ones that will last forever and we all must hold onto the positive memories.
Rob will be deeply missed however, through all of the positive memories that we have, we can think of our sunshine and he will make our days happy when sky's are gray. Although it is extremely difficult, Robby would not want us to weep, but instead to look to Christ for Strength during this time.
