Silver Springs- Robert Scott Sheets, age 59, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, at Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville, FL, after battling stage four cancer. Born February 14, 1959 in Miami, FL to Melvin Blondell and Mary Delilah (Iman) Sheets.
Robert was a beloved and devote father and grandfather. He is survived by his three children: Christopher Sheets, Brittany Ellis and her husband Chris Ellis, and Kyle Sheets. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Casey Ellis and Brenden Ellis.
Robert served his country as a Gunner’s Mate (Technician) in the U.S. Navy. Maybe that’s where his love of the water comes from whether it be fishing or having his own salt water aquarium. Robert loved to work with his hands and build things; always having the right tools for the right job. He was a hard worker and built his commercial door company from the ground up. For over 23 years he made a name for his company that people could trust. He had a love and a talent for shooting pool, even going on to win a national championship with his team. Sundays were his time for watching football; Miami Dolphins fan through and through. He fell in love with camping and had the privilege of owning his own RV to enjoy his camping in style. He was always there to help others, even though he was too stubborn to take some help in return.
Above all else he loved to spend time with his kids and grandkids. He is a man that will be greatly missed.
