Roger "Luckie" Hendrix, age 70, of Ocala, FL, passed away next to his wife on February 28, 2022.
Luckie was born on March 1, 1951, in New Jersey. If you asked a hundred people who Luckie was, they'd all give you a different story. A biker. A humble man. A handyman. A rebel. A husband. A father. A brother. A simple man. A Vietnam Veteran.
Luckie was a skilled carpenter and wood-worker. He worked for Vantare in Sanford, FL, for many years and built cabinetry and did interior design for luxury coaches/buses. He was very talented and creative with his craft. He took pride in perfecting every detail and was passionate for customizing anything he could get his hands on.
In 1997, he married his wife Judy and they lived in Apopka, FL for many years before relocating to Ocala. Luckie was a devoted husband and stepfather to his wife's three children. Luckie had a love for guitars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic rock & blues music and Alabama Football. He always had a good sense of humor and animated facial expressions. He lived in the moment, loved hard and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
"Let your soul shine, It's better than sunshine, It's better than moonshine, Damn sure better than rain."
Luckie is survived by his beloved wife; Judy Hendrix of Ocala, stepson; Andrew Estes of Ocala; stepdaughter, Shelly Iobst and her husband Bryan of Apopka; stepdaughter Kelly Verver and her husband Fernando of Houston, TX; his nieces, nephews and his three grandchildren John, Brennen, and Bronson. He is preceded in death by his parents, "Sarge" and "Kitty" by his sister, Patti and his brother, Paul.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. Family and friends will be advised at that time.
