Roy Johnson

Ocala – Roy Johnson, 87, passed away April 27, 2016.  Born January 6, 1929 in Samson, AL to Rander Johnson and Omie Jackson.  He retired as an insurance Staff Manager and was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII.  He was a long time Ham Radio enthusiast, and loved fishing and reading the bible.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Isabel Johnson (2012) and parents.  He is survived by his sons, James Johnson “Jay” (Regina), Jeff Johnson “Laura” (Laura); daughter, Janis Owens (Wendell), brother, Wayne Johnson (Lelo), eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Rd, Anthony, FL 32617.  Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 at First Assembly of God Church, Ocala, with Pastor Fed Fred McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, FL.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County in memory of Roy.
