Russell Nelson

Orlando - Russell Charles Nelson, 59, passed away on April 28, 2020, at home in Orlando, Fl.  He was in hospice care for five weeks prior to his death.  He was born on June 28, 1960 in Ocala, Florida to the late Richard Norman Nelson Sr. and Jeanne Joan (Van Dolson) Nelson.

Russell graduated from Vanguard High School in 1979. He was employed at Camp and Sons Meat Packing Company in Oak, Barneys Coffee & Tea Company in Orlando, the Orlando Lutheran Towers, and various other places throughout his many years.

Russell enjoyed attending the local theater and amusement parks.  He was a great enthusiast of fantasy board games of which he spent many hours playing.  He loved cooking and gardening, especially growing tomatoes and peppers.  He took great pleasure in spending time with his many friends and loved being with all his family.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Norman Nelson, Jr.; and nephew, Joshua Van Nelson.

He leaves his brothers, Robert (John) of Orlando, Raymond, Roger (Vicky) of Ocala, Reed (Jeanne) of Summerfield; and nephews, Sean of Ocala, Jason of Seattle, WA, Stephen (Jessica) of Knoxville, TN; and nieces, Hannah Recinella (Chris) of Thomasville, GA, Stephanie (Brett) of Ocala, and seven great nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family service at Highlands Memorial Park in Ocala.
