Sally Deloras (Clement) Matchett

June 11, 1937 - October 18, 2019

Sally Deloras Matchett, 82, went to be with Christ when she was called home unexpectedly the afternoon of October 18, 2019, in Citra, FL where she resided with her family. She was born June 11, 1937, in the Northfield Township of Washtenaw County, Michigan, raised in Florida, and she is the daughter & 6th child of Marcellus D. & Ethel June (Kuhn) Clement. She has lived in Citra where she & her husband built their home in 1960.

Sally attended school until she married her high school sweetheart at a young, beautiful age of 17 & began her life as a homemaker & mother. She worked various jobs as a laborer, housekeeper, and caregiver to help support her family, but her best job she did was raising her children and devotion to her husband, her church and Jesus Christ. She was married for 63 years. She LOVED going to church to serve Christ, being a Sunday school teacher to the kids, cooking, crocheting, sewing, horticulture, gardening, canning, spending time socializing with family & friends, collecting knickknacks, and ALWAYS giving to others.

She was a mother, sister, aunt, granny & friend to everyone.  She had 6 children, a total of 24 grandchildren that consisted of: 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, & 2 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Virginia & Gloria, her brothers Ronnie, Robert, Gerald, husband Russell, daughter Betty, & son-in-laws Ronnie & Michael. She is survived by her daughters Alice Miller, Ruthie Irene (Norman Sr.) Adkins, Patricia Ann Hughes, her sons Paul William Matchett & Michael Leroy Matchett and all her living grandchildren (Dale, Melinda, Carrie, Tina, Tami, Mary, Daniel, Willy, Audrey, Krystal, Lil’ Norman, Chelsea, Stephanie, Harold, Teralyn, Katie Grace, Justin, Mackinley, Hunter, JJ, Rayann, Jasmine, Natalie, & Louella).

Visitation will be Wednesday 10/23/19 from 5-7pm @ Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL.  A funeral service of remembrance will be Thursday 10/24/19 with viewing @ 1pm, service @ 2pm at Simmons Full Gospel Baptist Church in Citra, FL. Graveside to follow in Simmons Baptist Church Cemetery. Food & Gathering Celebration to continue at the church. Arrangements by Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL.
