Silver Springs - Shirley Ann Capron, 88, passed away June 13, 2016 at the Ted and Diane Brandley Hospice House. Born May 24, 1928 in Centralia, IL to Aaron and Agnes Plott Craig. She was a bookkeeper for the University of Missouri before moving to Ocala.
She has been a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala and she taught Sunday School. Shirley enjoyed reading, missionary work, an avid sewer and loved spending time with her children.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, J. Austin Capron; son, Craig Capron (Lorna), of Rockledge, FL; daughter, Kathy Coleman (Jeff), of Ocala; grandchildren, Darren Gardner, Jennifer Colby, Leslie Stark; great-grandchildren, Abigail Colby, Leah Colby, Jillian Colby, Devon Stark, Madyson Stark, Alyson Stark, Courtney Stark; two nieces, two nephews and numerous cousins and friends whom will miss her dearly.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Ocala with Dr. Edward D. Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FBC Ocala Missions Fund, 2801 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, FL 34471 in memory of Shirley Capron.
