Ted Pressley

Ocala – Ted W. Pressley, 70, passed away May 26, 2016 at Hospice Legacy house.  Born December 23, 1945 in Canton, NC to Joseph Ernest and Ruby Rogers Pressley. He moved here in 1985 from Hendersonville, NC. He was the pastor and founder of New Covenant Worship Center and also owned and operated Ted Pressley Painting Inc.

Ted is preceded in death by his son, Terry Wayne Pressley, parents, sisters Gwynneth Edwards and Juanita Kilby and brother, Billy Joe.   He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Cynthia Martin Pressley; son, Shawn Tyler, of Hendersonville, NC; daughters, Shari Smith (Thomas), of Ocala, Stacy Hall (Troy), Sheila Turpin, both of Hendersonville, NC, Teresa Bennett (Reid), of Asheville, NC; Dustin and Shana Turpin of Ocala; brothers, Carroll Pressley (Patti), of Irving, TX, Wade Pressley (Nancy), Rev. Ned Pressley (Alice), both of Canton, NC; ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many friends all whom will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.  Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. with his nephews, Reverend Marty Pressley, of Bryson City, NC and Reverend Tim Pressley of Sylva, NC officiating the services.  Interment will be later in New Cruso Cemetery, Canton, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family has a fund set up at Bank of America to help with funeral expenses. The fund is under the name, Shari Tyler Smith.
