Thelma Chappell

Thelma Marguerite Chappell, 97, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021 in Ocala,FL. She was born May 29, 1924 in Bolar, Virginia to Hollie Gutshall and Carmen Gwin Gutshall. She grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She was married to Bill Chappell in 1944 and moved to Ocala in 1948. After raising her 4 children she became the Manager/Buyer for Marguerite’s -The Gift Place in Ocala for 20 years.

She is preceded by her parents; daughter, Judith Gadd; grandson, Aaron and eight siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Deb) Bond (Tommy) & 2 sons, William V. “Chap” Chappell & Chris Chappell (Joan); 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held for family only at Kendrick Cemetery. Family & friends are cordially invited to a Memorial Service at First United Methodist Church, Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, on Saturday, July 24th at 1:00pm. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held in the Life Center (next to the church) immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County or the First United Methodist Church.
