Theresa A. Mondo, 97, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Batavia, NY died peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021.
Theresa was born April 3,1924 in Syracuse, NY to Francis C. and Catherine McGarry Falardeau. She was Valedictorian of her St. Anthony of Padua High School graduation class and a graduate of Central City Business Institute. A resident of Batavia since 1956, she was an active member of the community, serving alongside her husband, the late Atty. Joseph Mondo. Theresa enjoyed her leadership roles with the Girl Scouts of America, and membership in the Ladies of Kiwanis, the Women's Cornell Club of Batavia, St. Joseph's Sodality and Resurrection Parish. She served nine years on the Board of Directors for the Richmond Memorial Library and in 2008 was the distinguished recipient of the Library's Friend of the Year. She also loved traveling in the US and abroad with her husband, children and friends.
Theresa was also preceded in death by her brother Francis T. Falardeau, her sister Mary Falardeau Mack and Son-In-Law Richard J. Schar. Left to cherish her memory are her children Sheila A. (David T.) Held of Parker, CO and Celeste A. (Lawrence R.) Rappeport of Ocala, FL along with nieces, nephews and precious friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace RC Church, SW State Road 200, Ocala, FL at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021. A private entombment will be in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Batavia NY.
