BRADDOCK, Vivian (Harland)
Vivian Braddock passed away April 23, 2018 peacefully at home. Born on Jan 17, 1937, in Montreal, Canada, to the late James Stuart Harland and Doris (Edwards) Harland. Graduated from Trafalgar School for Girls in Montreal and attended McGill University, School of Architecture. She also had a scholarship during this time to the McGill School of Music, playing cello, and was a member of the Montreal Junior Symphony. She made her Vice-Regal Debut before the Honorable Vincent Massey, Governor-General of Canada.
Vivian immigrated to the US with her parents and settled in St. Petersburg, FL. From there she moved to Miami, met her husband, Edgar A. Braddock Jr., on the tennis courts of the U. of Miami. They were married in 1961 and raised two children, Edgar H. and Deborah L. Braddock. Vivian and her husband retired to Ocala in 1996.
Mrs. Braddock was active in Beta Sigma Phi sorority (and just received her 60 year pin on 4/18/2018), was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the Chancel Choir and English Handbell Choir.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ed (2013). She is survived by her son, Edgar (Laurieanne) Braddock; and grandchildren, Edgar Jr., Max, twins, Francesca and Charlotte Braddock; and daughter, Deborah (Robert) Isherwood and grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew Reynolds, close 4-footed companion, Amber Kitty.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, Ocala, FL with Rev. Dr. John Few officiating.
