DOWNES, William “Bill”

Ocala - William "Bill" Downes, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 15, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born May 9, 1938 in Franklin, New Hampshire, to the late Grace Paige Tilton.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Bill was a Detective for the Ocala Police Department and retired as a loan officer for Suntrust.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Gail Downes; sons, Michael Downes (MaryAnn), Tony Downes, Steven Downes (Lorissa), and Cory Bainbridge; daughter, Deanna Cross (Billy) and 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Graveside interment will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 2pm at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL.  The family will be receiving visitors 45 minutes prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, Fl.
