Ocala - William James Lavertue, Jr., 79, passed away November 28, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 12, 1941 in Lawrence, MA to the late William James and Bella Andrade Lavertue Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States National Guard and later worked in home security and medical fields as a Quality Control Engineer. William loved to entertain with his singing at the local senior centers and nursing homes along side with his good friend Fred Roebuck. Together they spent numerous hours recording and practicing their music. He also loved his woodworking and riding his bike along with sharing the word of God.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald and his son, David Lavertue.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lorraine H. (Smith) Lavertue; devoted father of son Shawn Lavertue and his wife Penny of Ocala, FL; daughter Robin Meadows and her husband John of Whitinsville MA.; devoted uncle to his nieces Pamela Lavertue of Whitinsville, MA and Jacqueline Lavertue of Hudson, MA; and nephew, Stephen Lavertue of Worcester, MA; and his 10 grandchildren that he adored, David, Samantha, Ryan, Nicholas, Shauna, Darien, Steven, Justine, Jamie and Ramiro; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the South Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, MA.
